An elegant Russian gold bracelet of the 19th century, covered with luxurious turquoise enamel, is a magnificent example of the jewelry art of that time. The curved lines of the gold ornament, made using the engraving and notched inlay techniques, create an elegant plant motif, harmoniously complementing the brightness of the turquoise background. The central element of the decoration is a star with thin gold facets, in the center of which a pearl shines, surrounded by smaller pearls, which gives the bracelet a refined nobility. Materials: Gold 56 assay value, Turquoise enamel, Pearl. Hallmarks: poorly readable hallmark of the city of St. Petersburg, Latin letters TR, numbers 56 (gold assay value). Dimensions: Inner size: 7 × 5.5 cm. Weight: 26.65 grams. Historical background: In the second half of the 19th century, Russian jewelry workshops, including the legendary factories of St. Petersburg and Moscow, created pieces inspired by European Rococo and Neo-Renaissance styles, but at the same time preserving national identity. Turquoise enamel, symbolizing the purity and high status of the owner, was especially popular among the aristocracy, and the motif of a star with pearls was often found in jewelry intended for ladies of the court.

A pair of silver salt cellars fashioned as miniature thrones represents a characteristic example of Russian decorative silver of the second half of the nineteenth century. The architectural composition is conceived as a reduced ceremonial furniture form in which the utilitarian function is combined with a decorative and symbolic concept.The bodies are set on stepped bases with shaped plinths decorated with engraved vegetal ornament. The salt cellars feature similar decorative engraving, executed with a burin, with slight variations between them. The sides are embellished with fine linear engraving of floral motifs and ornamental bands, forming a clear ornamental structure and emphasizing the architectural plasticity of the form.The backs are designed as decorative panels with openwork cut-outs and central circular medallions with vegetal ornament. On the reverse of each salt cellar is an engraved medallion depicting a rooster.The seat is made as a hinged lid on which the proverb “Without salt and bread, half the dinner is lost” is engraved within an ornamental frame. The interior surfaces of the salt cellars are gilded.Salt cellars in the form of miniature thrones became popular in Russian silver of the nineteenth century as decorative elements of festive table settings. They symbolized the place of honor at the table and reflected the traditions of Russian hospitality, while also serving as elegant ornaments of the ceremonial table.Marks: Moscow assay mark with the image of St. George slaying the dragon; date “1869”; silver standard “84”; maker’s mark “AR” – Alexei Romanov, a Moscow silversmith active in the second half of the nineteenth century.Dimensions: Height: 8 cm; width: 6 cm.Weight: Approx. 78 g each; total weight: 157 g.Condition: Good. Minor traces of age and use, without deformations.

The objects are made of metal, possibly brass, the surface of which is patinated to look like silver with a partially gilded relief decoration. Brush with metal body, wooden base and natural bristles. The surfaces of the scoop and handle of the brush along the edges of the objects are decorated with a relief pattern in the Baroque style. The surface of the scoop is decorated with a baroque floral-leaf relief pattern. Western Europe, late 19th-early 20th century. Metal, stamp, embossing, casting, silvering, gilding (partially), wood, bristles. A complex production stamp with the image of a boat (?), the letter S. The indication of the letter S in the production stamp may indicate that silver plating. Dimensions: scoop - length 22 cm, width 22.5 cm, thickness 5 cm; brush - length 33.6 cm, width 5 cm, thickness 5 cm.
