A rare cast brass icon depicting the scene Do Not Weep for Me, Mother, crafted with hand finishing and hot cloisonné enamel. The central composition reflects the dramatic moment of the Virgin Mary mourning at the foot of the cross, interpreted in the style of late Russian devotional iconography. The inscriptions are executed in traditional Church Slavonic: “IC XC”, “Son of God”, “MP ΘY”, all rendered in raised relief within ornate framing.The ornamental border is filled with grapevine motifs—clusters and leaves—set against a rich blue cloisonné enamel background, symbolizing Resurrection and the Eucharist. The vivid enamel enhances the solemnity and decorative appeal of the piece.
