A mature work by Georgy Lapshin, created during his continuous artistic period on the French Riviera. The painting depicts a sandy shore with fishing boats resting by a wooden pier under the soft evening light. The transparent atmosphere, calm surface of the sea, and refined color balance create a poetic image of the Mediterranean coast. By the distinctive features of the landscape relief, the artist depicted the sandy coastline of the Bay of Cannes, where he repeatedly painted from nature.Lapshin uses broad, confident brushstrokes, combining the academic training of the Moscow school with the plein-air freedom of French painting. The palette is built on subtle blends of ochre-blue and golden tones, conveying the mood of sunset light and shimmering reflections on the water.
