An elegant Russian gold bracelet of the 19th century, covered with luxurious turquoise enamel, is a magnificent example of the jewelry art of that time. The curved lines of the gold ornament, made using the engraving and notched inlay techniques, create an elegant plant motif, harmoniously complementing the brightness of the turquoise background. The central element of the decoration is a star with thin gold facets, in the center of which a pearl shines, surrounded by smaller pearls, which gives the bracelet a refined nobility. Materials: Gold 56 assay value, Turquoise enamel, Pearl. Hallmarks: poorly readable hallmark of the city of St. Petersburg, Latin letters TR, numbers 56 (gold assay value). Dimensions: Inner size: 7 × 5.5 cm. Weight: 26.65 grams. Historical background: In the second half of the 19th century, Russian jewelry workshops, including the legendary factories of St. Petersburg and Moscow, created pieces inspired by European Rococo and Neo-Renaissance styles, but at the same time preserving national identity. Turquoise enamel, symbolizing the purity and high status of the owner, was especially popular among the aristocracy, and the motif of a star with pearls was often found in jewelry intended for ladies of the court.

MAJOLICA JARDINIÈRE IN THE FORM OF A BOAT WITH GRIFFINS

A majolica jardinière in the form of a decorative boat, executed in an expressive Historicist manner with elements of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque design. The composition is conceived as a fantastical vessel with raised sides, crowned by sculptural figures of attacking griffins. Their elongated necks and open jaws lend the piece a sense of dynamism and theatricality characteristic of decorative arts at the turn of the century.The body is embellished with relief cartouches featuring ornamental and zoomorphic decoration in brown, cream and turquoise-blue tones. The sculptural modelling is accentuated by the contrast between the glossy glaze and the richly toned lilac-pink interior bowl. The piece is set upon a substantial metal base with bronze finish of complex profile, covered in a noble patina that enhances the monumentality of the composition and ensures visual stability.The combination of majolica and metal reflects a distinctive late 19th-century European tendency toward the synthesis of materials and decorative techniques. The jardinière would have served as a refined interior accent in a winter garden, salon or formal reception room.Marks: Not found.Dimensions: Height: 29 cm; Width: 37 cm; Depth: 15 cm.Condition: Good. Gilding even. Minor wear to the base. No deformations, cracks, restorations or signs of active use.
