A unique mantel clock made of glass and bronze made during the period of Nicholas I (1825-1855) in the style of the late Empire. The solar theme of the luminary rising from the waters is associated with the nature of abundance in the ornament of the dial and the dominant flowerpot on conical glass. The general leitmotif of the mobility of waves and time , permeates the work and is noticeable in the rhythm of the glass and the dial pattern. In the center of the composition, He and She are Helios’ assistants. Alpha and Omega of the universe. They rise from the waves and hold the luminary, affirming love, life, fertility. This is the connecting thread of times. The clock is made of gilded and polished bronze and cobalt glass, presumably made at the Imperial Glass Factory in St. Petersburg, with bronze bases of floral designs. The upper part of the clock is made in the shape of a vase and is decorated with gilded bronze floral decoration. The dial is marked with Roman numerals, decorated with a decor in the form of sun rays rotated in an hour circle. Literature: Sychev Igor. Russian lamps from the era of classicism. 1760-1830. M. SILVER BEER TANKARD WITH IMPERIAL BATTLE SCENES GERMANY, FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY

A monumental silver lidded beer tankard executed in the expressive manner of Historicist Baroque. The cylindrical body is adorned with a continuous high-relief frieze depicting a large-scale battle composition. The dynamic scene presents cuirassed horsemen wearing plumed helmets, infantry soldiers in wide-brimmed felt hats, standard-bearers and military musicians. The masterful modelling conveys tension, movement and the dramatic climax of combat.The upper and lower bands of the body are decorated with relief ornament of fruits, acorns and foliage symbolising abundance and martial virtue. The base is profiled with a pronounced serrated edge. The domed lid is embellished with vegetal motifs and crowned by a large spherical finial in the form of a stylised fruit. The interior is gilt. The richly ornamented S-shaped handle with scrolling and floral elements incorporates a functional thumb-piece mechanism for lifting the lid.Hallmarks: Not identified or possibly lost due to age and use.Dimensions: Height: 25 cm; Width: 19.5 cm; Base diameter: 15.5 cm.Weight: 806 g.Condition: Good. Minor traces of age and use. Interior gilding partially preserved. Mechanism in working order.Provenance: Private European collection.

Round gold enamel powder box Violettes Paris circa 1860. On a noble, dark brown background with a golden net and antique grotesques, the lid depicts a preening nymph with a cupid adorning her hair. The vignette at the base depicts a flirtatious scene, apparently with the same cherub, dove and basket of flowers, again in pursuit of the escaping mistress. Labeled: Violettes Paris. On the inside of the rim there is a memorial date: April 18, 1880. Parisian gold hallmarks from 1838, corresponding to 750 standard, are on the bottom of the powder compact. Inside the lid there is an original mirror. Height: 3cm. length-5cm. Weight:73.94g
