This richly narrated painting probably takes us back to a hunting scene at court in the late 17th or early 18th century.In the left foreground, two men on horseback are engaged in a lively conversation, while in the distance, behind them, we see a town with prominent bell towers, typical of the Flemish School of this period.On the right, we can also make out several successive shots: what appears to be a dead tree in the foreground, then a dog, then a man who seems to be gutting game, followed by another who is skinning a beast on the ground near a tent on the right, and finally the crowd of gathered soldiers in the background. In the very last shot, we can make out a large rocky massif lost in the sky and clouds.This painting offers a fascinatingly detailed composition, featuring hunters, their horses and a dense, animated landscape. The many characters in action around a wilderness camp add dynamism and depth to the overall picture. Indeed, the succession of shots is remarkable, with elements that follow one another and give real depth to this medium-format painting.The precision of the brushstrokes, almost sketches, and the intensity of the chiaroscuro effects testify to rigorous graphic preparation and a refined, elaborate pictorial approach.In this painting, a remarkable ability to assimilate the heritage of the Flemish tradition is immediately apparent, perceptible through the chromatic palette deployed and a clear predilection for drawing.The latter highlights both the richness of detail and the methodical, rational organization of each figure or object depicted.The painting has been carefully framed by DELF, a company renowned for its expertise.

A rare cast bronze icon “The Silent Christ” (Spas Blagoe Molchanie) with eighteen selected saints, executed with two-color hot enamel — deep blue and white. The central image depicts Christ in the form of the Angel of Great Counsel, with wings, a scepter, and a radiant halo, bearing the traditional inscription IC XC. The composition is surrounded by eighteen round medallions with busts of saints, each signed. The background is adorned with floral ornament, and Church Slavonic inscriptions frame the icon at the top and bottom. Such items were produced in casting workshops of Moscow and the Urals and were intended for domestic devotion. The icon stands out for its fine casting, preserved enamels, and decorative expressiveness.Dimensions: Icon: 15 × 12.5 cm, Kiot: Height 22 cm, Width 18 cmCondition: The icon is in good collector’s condition. A rare cast brass icon depicting the scene Do Not Weep for Me, Mother, crafted with hand finishing and hot cloisonné enamel. The central composition reflects the dramatic moment of the Virgin Mary mourning at the foot of the cross, interpreted in the style of late Russian devotional iconography. The inscriptions are executed in traditional Church Slavonic: “IC XC”, “Son of God”, “MP ΘY”, all rendered in raised relief within ornate framing.The ornamental border is filled with grapevine motifs—clusters and leaves—set against a rich blue cloisonné enamel background, symbolizing Resurrection and the Eucharist. The vivid enamel enhances the solemnity and decorative appeal of the piece.
