Louis XV style gilded wood fire screen, 19th centuryCarved gilded wood fire screen decorated with a tapestry with original stitches representing the abduction of Europa.The surround is made up of detached columns topped with rosettes and pompoms.The frame is decorated with pearl rays with a cornice topped with a frieze of openwork acanthus leaves on which rests a quiver, a bow and a crown of flowers. It rests on four arched scrolled legs.This beautifully crafted piece of furniture is distinguished by its elegance and decorative character.

The reflected light gives the water a picturesque depth, while a soft glow breaks through the cloud cover, illuminating the rocky surfaces and contrasting them with the dense shadows of the forest thicket.The monumental trunks of pines towering over the landscape form a strict vertical dominant, emphasizing the power and grandeur of nature. Kamensky masterfully conveys the texture of tree bark, covered with moss, and rocky shores, creating a sense of volume. His thick, rich impasto strokes enhance the drama of the scene, endowing it with expressive painterly texture.The interplay of light and shadow is skillfully orchestrated: from the bright sunlight on the sand to the deep, twilight tones in the depths of the forest.
