An impressive Empire style chandelier, consisting of a blue, painted sphere with voluminous gilded stars, suspended on massive chains from an upper rosette, richly decorated with palmettes and cone clusters. The central part of the lamp consists of 9 (nine) horns, made in the shape of swans and located in a circle in the central part of the sphere. Electrified. Dimensions: 130x66x66 cm. A similar Russian gilded bronze chandelier of spherical design was sold at Christies, Paris, April 14, 2015, Le Goût Français - Art decoratifs du XVIIe sisècle au XIXe siècle, lot 179 Literature: Hans Ottomeyer and Peter Proschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Klinkhardt et Biermann, Munich , 1986, p. 359, table 5.11.4

LEROLLE brothers. A magically beautiful chandelier made of chiseled and gilded bronze. The pear-shaped stands of which are decorated with acanthus leaves. And brilliantly complemented by three shell-shaped glass bowls. Engraved signature on glass. The period of Napoleon III. Height: 51 cm. Diameter: 35 cm.Family business Louis Lerolle (1813–1875) who passed the bronze foundry to his sons, Edouard-François and Camille, in 1849, who then became known as the Lerolle Brothers.
