Silver coaster by the Imperial Court Supplier Lyubavin decorated with a graver design in the Art Nouveau style. Hallmarks: full Lyubavin company hallmark under a double-headed eagle, St. Petersburg Assay Office hallmark with the initials of assay inspector Yakov Lyapunov. 1896-1903. Weight: 182 g. Historical background: Alexander Benediktovich Lyubavin, the owner of a silver and goldsmith`s factory founded in the 1850s at 31 Nevsky Prospect, bought F. Genrikhsen`s factory at 2 Grafsky Lane in 1893. In 1907, his son, court silversmith Nikolai Alexandrovich Lyubavin, managed the company. The company was awarded gold medals at fairs in Nizhny Novgorod (1896) and Stockholm (1897). The Lyubavin AL jewelry company operated from 1893 to 1917. In 1897, it had the following workers on its staff: 38 men, two teenagers, and four boys.

An elegant square silver tea caddy, made in Moscow between 1896 and 1908. The surface of the item is decorated with a refined engraving in the oriental style, which was especially popular in the Art Nouveau era. The front side features a graceful female figure in traditional Chinese dress, surrounded by lotus flower patterns and flowing plant lines. The skillful combination of Russian jewelry craftsmanship and Eastern influence gives the tea caddy a unique appearance and artistic value. Hallmarks: The master`s mark with the initials MB (Belousov Maxim Vasilievich), made in Cyrillic, as well as the Moscow assay mark of the period 1896-1908. This exquisite figurine of Salammbô, also known as Oriental Dancer, created in the first quarter of the 20th century, is an excellent example of Art Deco plastic art. The sculpture shows a graceful girl frozen in the movement of a dance, with expressive and dynamic lines characteristic of this artistic movement. The figure is made of gilded bronze, which is skillfully combined with smooth ivory. Ivory is used to depict naked arms, legs, stomach and chest, creating a harmonious contrast between the materials and emphasizing the sophistication and elegance of the forms. The girl is depicted in a dynamic pose, inspired by the author of the historical novel Salammbô by the French writer Gustave Flaubert. The sculptor depicted Salammbo in bronze, a priestess of the goddess Tanit, radiating the expression and grace typical of the Art Deco style. Each element is carefully worked out, conveying the liveliness and energy of movement. Graceful lines and elegant forms emphasize the aesthetic value of this sculpture.
