Icon of George the Victorious in a silver setting, with enamels of the 1st Moscow artel. Early 20th century. The saint is represented in classical iconography on a rearing horse slaying a serpent. The artist managed to compactly place the opposing figures and emphasize the mystery of what is happening with the light. A spot on the ground is especially good, showing the sinister world of demons. The halo and setting of the icon were made by the masters of the 1st Moscow Artel, with applied decor, with cloisonne enamels. Hall marks of the artel and the Moscow hallmark of 84 silver samples, 1908-1917. Dimensions: 26x22 cm.
