GENERAL SALES PROCESS

Selling through ANTIQON includes a complete cycle of services, from the preliminary appraisal and determination of the sales strategy to the completion of the transaction and payment to the Seller.

ANTIQON works with works of art, antiques, and collectible objects, providing professional support, international promotion, and access to collectors, private clients, and institutional buyers.

Depending on the nature of the property, its value, category, and market strategy, a sale may be conducted:

  • through auction;
  • through the gallery and Buy Now format;
  • through private sales;
  • through individual curator-led client relationships.

The sales format is determined jointly with an ANTIQON curator, taking into account the characteristics of the property, current market conditions, and the interests of the Seller.

The cooperation process generally includes:

  • preliminary appraisal of the property;
  • analysis of the suitability of the property for sale;
  • agreement on the sales format;
  • consignment of the property;
  • preparation of the property for sale;
  • promotion and communication with potential buyers;
  • management of the transaction;
  • payment to the Seller following completion of the sale.

Each property is assigned an ANTIQON curator who:

  • advises on the sales process;
  • develops the sales strategy;
  • coordinates preparation of the property;
  • communicates with potential buyers;
  • manages the transaction at every stage.

Sales conditions, commissions, selling periods, settlement procedures, and all other terms of cooperation are set out in the relevant agreement or contract between the parties.

PROPERTY APPRAISAL

The process of selling through ANTIQON begins with a preliminary appraisal of the property and an assessment of the most appropriate sales format.

For an initial review of the property, the Seller may:

  • complete an enquiry form on the website;
  • submit information by email;
  • contact the ANTIQON team directly;
  • arrange for the property to be examined in person by prior appointment.

For a preliminary appraisal, the Seller is encouraged to provide:

  • photographs of the property;
  • a description of the property;
  • dimensions, materials, signatures, hallmarks, or markings (if known);
  • any known provenance information;
  • available documentation, certificates, or expert reports.

The appraisal is carried out by ANTIQON specialists and may involve consultation with specialist experts, art historians, and advisers.

Following the preliminary review, the following may be determined:

  • an indicative value of the property;
  • an estimated selling range;
  • the suitability of the property for sale through auction, the gallery, the Buy Now format, or private sales;
  • the proposed sales and marketing strategy.

Any preliminary appraisal is provided for guidance only and does not constitute a guarantee of sale, achievement of a particular price, or an obligation on the part of ANTIQON to accept the property for consignment.

In certain cases, additional photographs, documentation, physical examination of the property, or consultation with external specialists may be required in order to conduct a more detailed appraisal, examination, or attribution.

SALE THROUGH AUCTION

Sale through an ANTIQON auction is intended for property of artistic, historical, collecting, or market interest to an international audience of collectors, dealers, and private clients.
