An elegant Piaget ring crafted in 1998 in 18K white gold. The composition reflects the distinctive language of late 20th-century Piaget jewellery design, combining a pure sculptural form, highly polished precious metal surfaces and expressive asymmetry.
The central focus is a round-cut yellow sapphire, set directly into the broadened upper section of the ring. Its rich golden-yellow hue creates a striking contrast with the cool lustre of the white gold. To one side of the central gemstone, a small round-cut diamond is asymmetrically set into the band. This deliberate displacement from the central axis introduces a subtle visual tension and lends the jewel a distinctly modern, architectural character.
The substantial, smoothly contoured band is almost entirely devoid of additional ornament, concentrating attention on the interplay of volume, colour and precious stones. This minimalist approach reflects Piaget’s exploration of sculptural goldwork and coloured gemstones, which played an important role in the Maison’s jewellery vocabulary during the second half of the 20th century.
Marks: The inside of the band is engraved “750”, “A84710”, “56”, “S”, the signature “PIAGET” with the © symbol, and the date “1998”. The 750 mark denotes 18K gold. The principal markings are clearly legible in the photographs.
