The vertical, centric composition, formed by an alley of birches and a house with smoke, leads to a cold and distant light. The viewer`s agent - a lonely traveler - multiplies sadness and desolation. The conflict of cold white and brown-gold tones in the foliage complement the atmosphere of uncomfortability and the approaching cold.
