Antique 20th Century Tiffany Art Deco 14 Carat gold compact, of rectangular form, unusual hinged clasp set with baguette diamonds, the redded box is partially decorated with black enamel. The inside of the cover is set with a mirror and contains a removable lipstick holder. Hallmarked 14k gold (585 standard), Make E.T for Tiffany & Co, later retailed by CARTIER, the box dates to the 1920s. This is a stunning example of the early Art Deco piece made by the world renowned American retailers and comparable pieces were presented at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs at Industriels Modernes (Paris, 1925), that marked the high point of the first phase of Art Deco. Such iconic pieces are very valuable and sought after, by collectors and fashion conscious.
