We present to you this superb pair of gilt bronze candlesticks, dating back to the early 19th century and inspired by a model designed by the renowned French goldsmith, painter, sculptor, and architect Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1759). Each supported by a broad base with a 20 cm diameter, these candlesticks are adorned with beautiful scrollwork, reminiscent of the Regency style of Louis XIV, showcasing the elegance of that era. This pair of candlesticks is distinguished by its high-quality gilding, combining both matte and glossy finishes. They measure 28 cm in height each.Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750) was a highly influential French goldsmith, sculptor, and architect of the Rococo period. Renowned for his intricate designs, he played a pivotal role in defining the aesthetic of the time. His artistic prowess extended to paintings, engravings, and interior decorations, leaving an enduring legacy in decorative arts.
