An elegant rectangular table mirror mounted within an elaborate openwork gilt bronze frame. The composition is conceived in the Neo-Rococo style, combining flowing scrolls, rocaille ornament, stylised acanthus foliage, flowering branches and shell motifs into a richly sculptural decorative ensemble.

The crest is surmounted by a prominent shell above a finely modelled female mascaron framed by scrolling foliage. The sides are composed of asymmetrical rocaille scrolls and pierced vegetal ornament, lending the silhouette remarkable lightness and movement. The lower section terminates in bold volutes that also serve as stable supports.

The mirror plate, finished with a bevelled edge, is set within a shaped inner surround. The reverse retains its folding easel support, allowing the mirror to be displayed on a dressing table, console or cabinet. The refined casting and warm gilded finish emphasise the luxurious decorative character typical of high-quality European decorative arts of the Historicist period.
