A monumental French floor lamp dating from the turn of the 20th century, executed in the Louis XVI style and representing a distinguished example of sculptural bronze work from the Historicist period. The composition combines patinated and gilt bronze, creating a striking contrast of surfaces and enhancing the sculptural modelling of the figure.

The fluted central stem is gracefully supported by a classical figure of a nude young woman, modelled in the tradition of French Academic sculpture. She holds a gilt cornucopia, an emblem of prosperity, wealth and abundance widely employed in Neoclassical decorative arts. The upper section is fitted with eight elegantly scrolling light branches conceived as entwined stems enriched with foliate ornament. The central urn-shaped element and the finial of the stem are likewise executed in gilt bronze, forming a balanced and architecturally composed ensemble.

The circular base is fashioned from polished marble and encircled by a gilt-bronze band decorated with an acanthus motif characteristic of French decorative arts of the second half of the 19th century. The floor lamp has been professionally electrified and remains suitable for use while retaining its historic and artistic character.
