An elegant silver shoehorn conceived as a refined personal accessory and preserved in its fitted Callegari case. The broad, gently curved blade flows into an expanding shaped handle, its surface finely decorated with longitudinal striations.
The handle is framed by a beaded ornamental border enriched with stylised foliate scrolls and volutes. An oval medallion bearing an engraved monogram is set in the upper section, surrounded by floral rosettes and symmetrically arranged decorative motifs. The interplay of polished surfaces, engraving and relief ornament lends the piece the character of an elegant silver personal accessory.
The reverse of the handle retains a retailer’s label inscribed “Callegari L’antiquario gemmologo”. The grey fitted case, with flap and press-stud fastening, is likewise marked “Callegari L’antiquario gemmologo” to the interior.
Marks: Marked “STERLING”; “5900 S.S.”; an additional mark adjacent to the STERLING designation.
