A superb silver writing set created by the Fabergé firm in the late 19th century is an outstanding example of the jewellery art of its time. The front of the set depicts a Siren - a mythological creature with a female torso and a bird`s lower part. The Siren symbolizes deceit and seduction, embodying the dangers of the material world that can tempt the spirit on the way to its goals. The covers of the set are made in the form of sea shells, which gives the product an element of the enchanting sea element. Decorative dolphin figures on the lids emphasize the connection with the sea and add dynamics and grace to the items. The writing set is presented in an elegant wooden case. Hallmarks: full Fabergé hallmark, hallmark of silversmith Henrik Wigström (HW), assay mark of St. Petersburg from the last quarter of the 19th century with the image of the city coat of arms and the numbers 84, confirming the silver standard.
