This exquisite silver cup with a lid, made in Moscow in 1764, is an outstanding example of 18th-century jewelry art. Its elegant silhouette, complemented by complex relief decor, reflects the influence of Russian Baroque. The main decorative element is a relief image of a bird in an exquisite cartouche surrounded by acanthus leaves and curls. The lid is decorated with relief motifs and completed with an elegant finial. This cup is distinguished not only by its artistic expressiveness, but also by a high degree of craftsmanship, which is confirmed by the clarity of the relief, the sophistication of the lines and the harmony of proportions. Dimensions: Height: 23.5 cm Diameter (upper part): 10.9 cm Diameter (lower part): 8.7 cm Weight: 389 grams. Hallmarks: City hallmark: In the shape of a spatula with the image of St. George the Victorious, slaying a dragon with a spear, above the line and the date 1764. Quality master`s hallmark: In the shape of a heart with the initials AO above P, corresponding to Alderman Petrov Fyodor (active in 1759-1784). Unknown hallmark: In the shape of a heart with the initials AL above A. Assay master`s hallmark: Name of an unknown assay master, in Cyrillic V.A, who worked in 1760-1794.
