Portbouquet ( porte-bouquet) - Flower holder. Historical note: In the 1800s, it was completely indecent for a lady or girl to appear in the world without a bouquet of flowers in her hands or hair, or attached to a dress on her chest or waist. But the flowers wither quickly and it is somehow unpleasant to dance at the ball with a withered bouquet, whether it is in the hands or acts as part of a costume. In addition, the stems can leave an unpleasant stain. To get out of such a delicate situation, they came up with a portbouquet, a special case or a tiny vase for a bouquet.
