The work of an unknown artist of the 19th century is echoed by the Dutch master of the Golden Age - Philips Wouwerman. It depicts a pause of a horseback ride at the fountain. A young man helps a lady to get off her horse. Their companion watering the horse without getting off the saddle. The landscape diagonally seems to lean towards the rest of the fountain. There clouds run, the tree slopes and the young lady leans in. All these rhythms portend sweet peace - a pause. The golden, generalizing coloring sounds like a lyrical sonata in a touching corner of a baroque park.
