Icon of the Tikhvin Blessed Virgin Mary in a silver frame and crowns of cloisonne enamel. The turn of the 19th-20th centuries. The tender and lyrical image of the Virgin and Child, vividly painted in oil, is favorably set off by the smooth-backed silver frame and decorative belt on the margins of the icon. A special measure of sublimity and celebration is conveyed by the cloisonne enamel crowns with colorful floral patterns and elastic arches of pearl necklaces. The hallmark on the crown is 84 sterling silver, 1899-1908. The edge of the frame is reinforced with a metal tape, probably hiding the marks of the frame. Dimensions: 27x22 cm.
