A monumental ceramic vase of cache-pot form, created in 1905 by the distinguished artist and designer of the Amphora Manufactory, Eduard Stellmacher (1868–1945). This work is an outstanding example of Austrian Art Nouveau in the Vienna Secession style, harmoniously combining Symbolist aesthetics, naturalistic sculptural modelling, and the innovative achievements of early twentieth-century artistic ceramics.

The rounded body is enriched with a striking high-relief depiction of a capercaillie set amidst conifer branches with pine cones. The sculptural modelling demonstrates exceptional plastic refinement and a profound understanding of natural forms. The surface is finished with a sophisticated polychrome glaze displaying rich transitions of green, brown and golden ochre tones, enhanced by lustrous gilded highlights that reinforce the decorative character of the composition. This seamless integration of sculpture with experimental ceramic techniques is among the defining characteristics of Eduard Stellmachers finest works produced during the golden age of the Amphora Manufactory.

Its monumental scale, rarity and exceptional artistic quality establish the piece as a distinguished example of Austrian decorative arts from the beginning of the twentieth century.

Marks: Fully signed Ed. Stellmacher, impressed into the ceramic body at the lower section. The underside bears the factory marks and monograms of the Amphora Manufactory, consistent with production dating to circa 1905.
