An elegant pair of French silver salt cellars with their original glass liners and matching silver salt spoons, preserved in the original fitted presentation case. Oval in form, the salt cellars are executed in the tradition of late nineteenth and early twentieth century French Neoclassicism. Their bodies are conceived as stylised architectural bases of Antique columns, raised on four spherical feet. A finely chased frieze of classical ornament, carefully modelled architectural detailing and harmonious proportions testify to the refined quality of their silversmithing.
The removable glass liners ensure practical use while protecting the silver from contact with salt, preserving the original function of the pieces. The ensemble is completed by a pair of silver salt spoons and the original silk-lined fitted case, making it a particularly desirable collector`s set for connoisseurs of French silver and elegant Belle Époque tableware.
