Adam Weisweiler was a French cabinetmaker of German origin and one of the foremost ébénistes of the Louis XVI and Directoire periods. Working for the leading Parisian marchands-merciers, he produced refined furniture distinguished by exceptional marquetry, rare exotic woods and finely chased gilt-bronze mounts. His works became benchmarks of French Neoclassicism and are preserved in the world's leading museum collections.
