Antique 19th Century French Important solid silver-gilt dinner bell on stand. Made on commission, by undoubtedly two very important French noble families to celebrate the joining of two households in marriage. The domed bell cast with a crowned two family overlapping coats of arms, the baluster handle cast with acanthus leaves and top mounted with a royal crown. The plate decorated with a leaf and ribbon tied border and the center engraved with a large crest of two families.
Hallmarked French silver (Minerva head, 950+ standard), Austrian import marks, Maker Quizille Lemcine, Lemoine Fils, 356 Rue Sihonore.
