The salt shaker is made in the form of a miniature chair, stylized as a tub, being a striking example of decorative and applied art in the neo-Russian style, popular in Russia in the second half of the 19th century. Its surface is decorated with engraved geometric and floral patterns inspired by traditional motifs of Russian folk art. Gilding gives the product a special sophistication and emphasizes the decorative value. Hallmarks: silversmith DA Dmitry Alexandrov, assay silver hallmark 84, coat of arms of the city of Moscow St. George the Victorious, hallmark of assay master V.S. Viktor Savink, above the date 1870.
