Magnificent silver jug with engraved Neo-Renaissance glass. A flat, flask-shaped vessel is clamped by a luxurious silver rim, with voluminous flower scallops, on a four-leaf lacy pedestal. Plastically expressive, with a collar, the neck is decorated with an open rocaille handle in acanthus leaves. The spout, with a hinged lid, is ingeniously actuated by a pull on the handle. Germany, 800 silver proof, second half of the 19th century. Total weight: 1195 g.
