An elegant electric bell push crafted in silver and decorated with translucent blue enamel over a guilloché ground. The compact ovoid body is composed of two convex sections separated by a metal band. The upper section is surmounted by a projecting light-coloured push button.

The body is covered with rich cobalt-blue translucent enamel, revealing the finely engraved guilloché decoration beneath. The upper section displays a regular lattice pattern formed by intersecting undulating lines, while the lower section is ornamented with a more dynamic arrangement of rhythmically repeated wave motifs. The contrast between the deep blue enamel, silver elements and pale push button lends the object the refined decorative character associated with luxury accessories of the early 20th century.

Objects of this type combined a practical function with techniques traditionally associated with small luxury objects: the carefully worked metal body provided the ground for mechanically engraved guilloché decoration, subsequently covered with translucent enamel to enhance the rhythm and optical depth of the pattern.

GUILLOCHÉ ENAMEL
Guilloché enamel is a refined decorative technique based on applying transparent enamel over a mechanically engraved ornamental surface. Originating in France in the second half of the 18th century, it spread widely in European jewellery and watchmaking and reached its highest artistic achievement in Russia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, remaining in use in contemporary practice today.
