An elegant set of four cut crystal salt cellars with silver mounts and their original silver salt spoons, produced by the renowned Swedish jeweller C.G. Hallberg in 1907. The ensemble is an outstanding example of European table silver from the Late Historicist period, in which the ceremonial language of the Empire style was reinterpreted with refined Scandinavian craftsmanship at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Each salt cellar is fashioned from finely cut clear crystal of cylindrical form and fitted with an elegant silver mount. The upper rim is enriched with a finely chased frieze of suspended laurel garlands, one of the most characteristic ornamental motifs of the Empire style. The disciplined symmetry, harmonious proportions and exceptional quality of the silverwork reflect the distinguished character of this luxurious table service.
The set is accompanied by four original silver salt spoons and preserved in its original fitted presentation case, lined with silk and velvet. Its complete state of preservation together with the original case significantly enhances its historical, museum and collector`s value.
