Remond, Lamy & Cie. Gold snuffbox with enamel of the early 19th century.

A magnificent snuffbox of the early 19th century made of 18 carat gold and enamel , rectangular in shape with beveled corners, the lid is decorated with a finely painted panel depicting King Solomon and his architect. According to the Hebrew Bible, the Temple of Solomon, also known as the First Temple, was called the Holy Temple (Beit HaMikdash). Existed in ancient Jerusalem until its destruction by Nebuchadnezzar II after the siege in 587 BC. The period of the building`s existence is known in academic literature as the period of the First Temple (circa 1000-586 BC). The decor is based on blue enamel plates decorated with guilloche leaves, the design of which is similar to the geometry of demi- and full Paterae. Along the edges of the picturesque scene there are chased figures of women warriors on enamel pedestals. Marked with the brand of the manufacturers Remond, Lamy & Cie (worked in Geneva in 1801-1804, famous Swiss jewelers) and the French brand.
