Description
An elegant oval-shaped box with an allegorical scene of a date between a shepherdess and a nymph on the top cover. On the side surface, the box is decorated with horizontal belts with a linear classical floral and leafy ornament. The box is closed with a lid fixed on a swivel hinge. Silver, stamp, engraving, embossing, mounting. The item is in very good condition. Marks: the master`s mark in a rhombic shield (indistinct); hallmark of France with the image of the head of Minerva, oriented to the right and the number 2, in a round shield truncated at the top and bottom. Introduced in 1838 for 800-carat silver items. The size of the item is 4.5x13.3x9.0 cm, weight 276 gr.
