A large Russian boat-shaped bonbonnière created by the craftsmen of the 15th Moscow Jewellers` Artel between 1908 and 1917, representing a refined example of Russian Art Nouveau silverwork. The piece combines elegant sculptural design, exceptional craftsmanship and the characteristic aspiration of early twentieth-century Russian decorative arts towards the harmonious integration of structure and ornament.
The body is fashioned from substantial cut crystal in an elongated boat-shaped form with gracefully pointed ends. Its surface is enriched with geometric faceting that captures and refracts light, emphasising the brilliance and purity of the crystal. The upper rim is mounted with a silver border decorated with a finely embossed ribbon and floral ornament executed by stamping and chasing.
A distinctive feature of the composition is the tall cast swing handle mounted on articulated pivots. Its openwork woven design, composed of flowing organic lines, is characteristic of Russian Art Nouveau and unites functionality with decorative elegance. The contrast between the transparent cut crystal and the silver mount creates a refined visual effect typical of the finest productions of Moscow jewellers` artels during the early twentieth century.
The bonbonnière was executed using casting, stamping and drawn silver techniques combined with expertly cut crystal. Owing to its impressive scale and sophisticated design, it was intended for formal table service and formed part of the ceremonial presentation of affluent households in the Russian Empire.

Dimensions: Length: 27.6 cm. Width: 14.0 cm. Height (excluding handle): 8.3 cm.
Condition: Very good condition. The crystal remains free from significant damage. The silver mount and handle retain crisp definition, with an attractive natural patina consistent with age.
