Icon of Christ the Almighty in a silver and gilded frame. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Hallmarks: master`s mark of the letter SG Galkin Semyon Grigorievich, silver assay mark of the city of Moscow. Size: 11x9 cm.

Historical background: Semyon Grigorievich Galkin, owner of a workshop specializing in the manufacture of silver items. In 1892, his company was called Trading House of S.G. Galkin and Co. The silver factory took part in the All-Russian Art and Industrial Exhibition of 1896 in Nizhny Novgorod, where it was awarded a medal. Later, Galkin, a silversmith, together with his brother founded a Trading House, which in 1912 became known as GALKINS, Semyon and Petr Grigorievich, Brothers.
