A magnificent decorative porcelain dish produced by the renowned Saxon Porcelain Manufactory Meissen during the period 1934 - 1945. This elegant work is an outstanding example of twentieth-century artistic porcelain, preserving the finest traditions of European Rococo as reinterpreted by the craftsmen of Meissen.

The centre is decorated with a delicately hand-painted polychrome floral bouquet, executed with the virtuosity and refined naturalistic colouring for which Meissen is celebrated. The brilliant white porcelain provides the perfect ground for the painting, enhancing its decorative elegance and sophistication.

Of particular artistic importance is the lavish gilded relief decoration. The broad pierced rim is enriched with an elaborate Rococo composition featuring asymmetrical scrollwork, luxuriant floral garlands and finely modelled botanical ornament executed with exceptional craftsmanship. The interplay between the radiant gilding, the luminous white porcelain and the delicate polychrome painting creates an impression of sumptuous decorative splendour characteristic of the finest Meissen productions.

Decorative dishes of this type were intended to embellish grand ceremonial interiors and formed prestigious elements of distinguished European porcelain collections.
