A rare gold snuffbox created in Geneva between 1801 and 1805 in the workshop of Georg Rémond & Lamy et Cie, one of the leading Swiss jewellers of the early 19th century. The lid is adorned with a finely executed multi-figure composition in painted enamel depicting the dramatic classical subject “The Death of Lucretia”. The scene is framed by an elegant border of chased gold and contour enamel in deep cobalt and black tones, characteristic of the Geneva school of the Consulate period.The body is crafted in 18K gold and decorated with delicate guilloché in a diagonal pattern. The perimeter is accentuated by ornamental borders alternating stylised ribbons, foliate motifs and inserts of blue enamel. The corners are defined by vertical panels with classical elements. The interior surfaces of the lid and body are polished to a mirror finish, emphasising the exceptional quality of execution.Marks: Initials G R L C, corresponding to the workshop of Georg Rémond & Lamy et Cie, Geneva, 1801–1805.Dimensions: Length: 8.3 cm.Width 6 cm. An elegant cigar accessory crafted in gold and intended for piercing the end of a cigar before smoking. The object takes the form of a compact cylindrical case with a suspension ring, allowing it to be worn on a watch chain or carried among gentleman’s pocket accessories.The body is decorated with guilloché engraving composed of rhythmic longitudinal lines that create a refined surface texture and a subtle play of light on the gold. The central section of the body is accentuated by a decorative ring joining the two parts of the case and emphasizing the strict cylindrical form of the object.The construction is based on a retractable mechanism: by twisting the case, a spiral piercing needle emerges from the body, designed to pierce the end of a cigar with precision. This system ensures safe storage of the sharp instrument and convenient use. The spiral form of the piercer allows penetration without damaging the outer wrapper of the cigar.The restrained decoration and clear geometry reflect the tradition of British jewelry accessories of the 20th century, where particular attention was paid to functionality, quality of metal and elegant simplicity.Hallmarks: Maker’s mark “H.H.S” - H. Huntley & Sons; British gold hallmark (crown); fineness mark “375” (9-carat gold); Birmingham city mark; date letter “H”.Dimensions: Length closed 5.4 cm; length extended 7.7 cm.Weight: 6.8 g.Condition: Good condition. A luxurious silver champagne cooler, executed in finely chased and stamped decoration, represents an expressive example of ceremonial tableware of the Historicism period, incorporating elements of Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque. The oval body with a subtle conical taper is articulated by vertical fluting, emphasizing the architectural clarity and elegance of the silhouette.The central cartouches are adorned with elaborate foliate ornament composed of acanthus scrolls and shell motifs. Beneath the rim runs a relief frieze with a Rocaille pattern. Particularly striking are the massive cast handles in the form of fantastical dragons with outstretched wings, curved necks, and finely modeled heads. The sculptural plasticity of the handles contrasts with the smooth polished surfaces of the body, creating a dynamic play of light across the silver.The base is profiled and enriched with engraved ornament, providing both visual balance and structural stability. The object was intended for cooling champagne bottles in ice and served as an essential element of formal table settings among the upper classes and aristocratic receptions.Marks: Require clarification following visual inspection and expert examination.Dimensions: Height 21.5 cm.Weight: 1380 g.Condition: Good.
