A small circular copper ashtray, executed in stamped technique, featuring a relief depiction of the double-headed eagle - the state emblem of the Russian Empire. The central medallion presents a finely modelled composition with a crowned eagle holding a sceptre and orb, emphasizing the official and symbolic character of the object.Along the perimeter of the medallion are the inscriptions “WAR 1914” and “K. FABERGÉ”, indicating the commemorative purpose of the piece and its association with the name of the Imperial Court supplier. The typographic composition is harmoniously integrated into the relief, enhancing the decorative impact of the object.The form of the ashtray is restrained and functional: a shallow bowl with a gently profiled rim and a concentric layout that draws attention to the central motif. The warm tone of the copper accentuates the depth of the relief and lends the object a distinctive visual presence. An impressive gold cigarette case, crafted in 56 zolotnik gold (14K) by the firm E. BURKHARD, represents a high-quality and characteristic example of pre-revolutionary Russian jewellery production of the early 20th century. The piece features an expressive two-tone treatment combining yellow and rose gold and is decorated with a relief chevron pattern (gadrooned chevron), forming a clear diagonal rhythm across the surface.The geometrisation of form, pronounced constructive character of the ornament and strict organisation of planes reflect the transitional artistic language from late Art Nouveau to early Art Deco. The contrast between matte and polished surfaces enhances the decorative expressiveness and highlights the technical precision of execution.The cigarette case is fitted with a push-button clasp set with a natural sapphire cabochon, emphasising its representative and status-oriented character. The interior is fully gilded. The hinge and clasp construction shows precise fitting and reliable engineering, characteristic of high-grade factory workmanship intended for a discerning and affluent clientele, including officers and senior officials.Hallmarks: Trade mark “E. BURKHARD” in a rectangular cartouche; Saint Petersburg District Assay Office mark in an oval shield with the fineness “56”, kokoshnik head and the Greek letter “α”; Maker’s mark “VK”, attributed to an unidentified craftsman working for the firm E. Burkhard; Additional assay and control marks consistent with the pre-revolutionary standard.Dimensions: To be specified.Weight: 164.30 g.Condition: Good. Minor signs of careful use consistent with age. The case structure is preserved. Clasp and hinges are fully functional. An elegant silver salt cellar of rare form, executed as a miniature chair with a hinged cover, represents a refined example of Moscow silverwork of the Historicism period. The composition is conceived as a stylized seat with an openwork back, a rectangular salt compartment and a folding front panel, lending the object architectural clarity and symbolic character.Particular attention is drawn to the pierced back executed in the Old Russian style. The central panel is engraved with a flowering tree surmounted by two symmetrically placed birds - a motif rooted in folk art traditions and symbolizing abundance, fertility and harmony. This decorative element harmoniously interacts with the openwork foliate scrolls and the serrated upper edge reminiscent of traditional wood carving.The base is adorned with a relief floral ornament and softly profiled contours enhancing the decorative unity of the piece. The hinged cover is finely engraved and reveals a gilt interior, creating a striking contrast with the silver surface and emphasizing the ceremonial character of the object.Marks: Maker’s mark “VI” for Vasily Ivanovich Ivanov, Moscow, active 1870–1908; assay mark with initials “V.P” over a line and date “1885”; standard mark “84”; Moscow city mark depicting St. George slaying the dragon.Dimensions: Height: 6.5 cm; length: 6 cm.Weight: 67 g.Condition: Good.
