It is a documentary and at the same time affectionate look of Russian realism at the peculiarities of domestic shipbuilding and the restless life of provincial towns, seen by the chief artist of the General Staff during a trip along the Volga.
A special place in the auction catalog is traditionally occupied by unique collectibles from suppliers of the Russian imperial court: a miniature gold box made in the form of a vessel for an etrog by F. Laurier, a graceful silver ladle in Russian Art Nouveau style from the 11th Moscow Artel, a gilded Russian silver 19th century champlevé cup.
