Oval silver box depicting an allegorical scene. France. 19th century.

An elegant oval-shaped box with an allegorical scene of a date between a shepherdess and a nymph on the top cover. On the side surface, the box is decorated with horizontal belts with a linear classical floral and leafy ornament. The box is closed with a lid fixed on a swivel hinge. Silver, stamp, engraving, embossing, mounting. The item is in very good condition. Marks: the master`s mark in a rhombic shield (indistinct); hallmark of France with the image of the head of Minerva, oriented to the right and the number 2, in a round shield truncated at the top and bottom.
