KORIN ALEXEY MIKHAILOVICH (1865-1923).


Painter, genre painter, landscape painter, author of a number of portraits and interiors. In 1884-1889. Studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where he studied under the famous masters I.M. Pryanishnikova, V.E. Makovsky, V.D. Polenov. Upon graduation, was awarded a large silver medal. Since 1885 exhibited his works at exhibitions of the art circle "Wednesday", MTX, MOLH. From 1891 he took part in traveling exhibitions. Member of TPHV. From 1894 he taught at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, in the early 1900s. - at the Stroganov Central School of Technical Drawing. 

Pictures by A.M. Korina were acquired by P.M. Tretyakov for his collection. Exhibitor durimg the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Aleksey Korins genre painting is typical of the "late" Wanderers, who often painted small pictures on subjects from everyday life. Korins works, as a rule, are distinguished by their intimacy, of images that almost don’t go beyond the framework of family and friendly communication of the master. His works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in many regional museums.
