Artist : Arthur UNGER (1932- )Crafted through the intricate process of flame-painting on copper, this piece showcases an explosion of vibrant colors, from rich copper tones to iridescent pinks and greens. The unique patterns and textures are the result of intense heat transforming the metal, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art that cannot be replicated.This piece is sold without a frame.About the Artist:BiographyArthur Unger was born in 1932 in the city of Hespérange, Luxembourg.After graduting, he follows administration and management courses in Bruxelles, and then settle in Belgian Congo, where he had lived for 5 years, and specially with the tribes Lunda and Baluba. This long African journey is very important for the development of Arthur’s art.In 1963, back to Europe, he settles in Paris. There, he discovers the artistic life of the French Capital and makes his first drawings and gouaches.In 1968, he came back to Luxembourg, and invents a technique of drawing with Inidian Ink, and a painting technique uppon brass, using electrolytic cupper which became his favourite medium (he calls his new technique « pyrochemograms uppon cupper »).In 1970, he meets Michel Tapié ; it is a major event in the artistic life of Arthur. Tapié is very interested in Arthur’s work and writes the forewords of all the exhibitions by Arthur Unger in France and in the world. In 1980, Michel Tapié dedicated a monograph to Arthur Unger at the Galerie Sources in Paris.The personal exhibitions of the works of Arthur Unger mainly take place in France, in Luxembourg, in Germany and in Switzerland (three times at the Basel Art Fair).

An atmospheric painted scene of a rural landscape, presumably executed in the 1880s–1890s by the distinguished Russian artist Julius von Klever. The composition is built on the contrast between the warm evening light and the dense mass of haycocks scattered across the field. A flock of birds rises above the horizon, adding gentle movement and symbolic depth to the scene.The subtle use of color, sensitivity to atmospheric light, and generalized plasticity of form place the work within the circle of Klevers oeuvre and suggest a likely attribution to the early period of his artistic career. The painting is set in its original late 19th-century gilt frame with ornamental carving.Artist’s signature: J. Клеверъ, lower right.Dimensions: Canvas without frame: 40 × 30 cm. With frame: 50 × 42 × 7 cm.Condition: Excellent. The canvas surface is stable, varnish with even patina. Original frame with minor signs of age.Provenance: Private collection, Western Europe.
