RUSSIAN 14K GOLD CIGARETTE CASE. BEILIN & SON FACTORY ST PETERSBURG, 1908–1917

An elegant Russian rectangular cigarette case with softly rounded corners, crafted in 14-karat gold at the St Petersburg gold and diamond workshop of Beilin & Son. The exterior is decorated with a refined geometric pattern executed in two-tone gold in the Art Nouveau style, realised through exceptionally fine chasing. The rhythmic diagonal lines create a dynamic play of light and underline the high level of surface workmanship characteristic of the finest pre-Revolutionary St Petersburg jewellery. The push-button clasp is set with a natural cabochon-cut sapphire, harmoniously integrated into the overall artistic composition. Distinguished by flawless proportions, precise fitting of components and a pronounced status character, the piece is representative of objects intended for courtly and aristocratic circles.Hallmarks: Maker’s mark “A.B” in a rectangular cartouche – Beilin & Son, Gold and Diamond Factory, St Petersburg; Oval assay mark with a female head facing left, gold standard “56” and assay letter “a”, corresponding to the St Petersburg assay office, 1908–1917.Dimensions: Length 9.8 cm; Width 6.5 cm.Weight: 129 g.Condition: Good.Provenance: Private European collection.

Turnkey ebony case with marquetry, gilded brass and tortoiseshell decor. On the spoons are French silver hallmarks of 800: the head of Minerva. Spoon length - 15 cm. Total weight of spoons: 98 gr.

Small candlestick from the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. A small candlestick in the form of a column, cylindrical in shape, resting on a square pedestal. The candlestick is decorated with a bouquet of flowers, on a white background, in reserve with a gold elegant frame. The cylindrical stem of the candlestick, the pedestal and the head of the candlestick are decorated with gold stripes along the perimeter. The rest of the surface of the candlestick is decorated with continuous cobalt painting. Germany. Meissen. XX century. Porcelain, underglaze cobalt coating and overglaze polychrome painting. Gilding. Stencil painting depicting a bouquet of flowers, which received the name Meissen bouquet. Excellent condition. Height - 15.2 cm, base size - 6.0x6.0 cm. Standard Meissen hallmark. The mark of the manufactory is shown on the bottom of the object, drawn with cobalt, underglaze - "crossed swords”, Meissen, 20th century.
