BERNARD AUBERTIN

1934 - 2015

Bernard Aubertin was a French artist and one of the leading figures of the European post-war avant-garde, closely associated with the ZERO movement and the concept of monochrome painting. For more than five decades, he explored the expressive potential of the colour red, fire, nails and seriality, developing a distinctive artistic language that made a significant contribution to the evolution of Minimalism and Conceptual Art.
