Zeydenberg Savely

Zaydenberg Savely Moiseevich (1862-1942) - famous Russian artist, teacher. Saveliy Moiseevich Seidenberg was born on April 28, 1862. He received his first art education at the Kiev Drawing School. In 1882 he entered the St. Petersburg University and enrolled as a volunteer at the Academy of Arts. But in 1895, S. N. Seidenberg became a student of the Academy of Arts. He successfully completed his studies in 1891, but began to participate in exhibitions of the academy in 1883. For his achievements he was awarded medals: in 1884 - 2nd silver; in 1886 - 2nd and 1st silver; in 1888 - 1st silver; in 1890 - 2nd gold medal for the painting Apostle Peter Healing a Lame Man. Savely Moiseevich in 1891 was awarded the title of "Class artist of historical painting of the 1st degree". S. N. Seidenberg took part in exhibitions: "Spring Exhibitions in the Halls of the Imperial Academy of Arts", "Jewish Society for the Encouragement of Arts", "Society of Historical Painting Artists", "Association of Artists".

At the beginning of the XX century, Savely Moiseevich taught at his own art studio "School of Painting and Drawing", was the founder of the "Society named after A.I. Kuindzhi ". Among his students were Yu. P. Anenkov, NP Akimov, MZ Chagall and others. The artist worked and lived in St. Petersburg. S. N. Zaydenberg died in besieged Leningrad in 1942.
