Lladro

Lladró is the story of a passion for porcelain by three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladro - artists who turned porcelain into a way of life and were able to build a business empire with their own hands.

In 1953, the brothers Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro create their first products in a Moorish oven installed in their home in Almacera (Valencia). In this way, they release their creative energy while continuing to work in a ceramic tile and tableware factory. Their first lovingly crafted pieces already have a special charm and interest of the public. They began to make their first plates, vases and ceramic figurines, inspired by the work of the great European manufacturers Meissen, Sevres and Capodimonte. It was during this period that flower modeling or complex tulle processing first appeared. , examples of virtuoso techniques that we still find in many of the brand′s creations.

Now, founded in 1985, the Lladró Collectors Society numbered over 100,000 collectors of the brand′s porcelain. In the 1980s, Lladró achieved two major milestones in its international expansion. In 1986, Lladró landed in Asia, with branches in Japan and China. And in 1988 he opened his first museum and gallery in New York, on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. And the process of internationalization continued steadily in emerging markets like Russia, Eastern Europe or India.

In the 2000s, Lladró rises to new heights at High Porcelain. There is a collection of items of exceptional artistic and technical quality, designed to form a select group of masterpieces within the brand, while Lladró re-creates itself with sculptural details in matt white porcelain; with dynamic and expressive elements and vivid colors.

Subjects devoted to religious traditions and beliefs are beginning to play a prominent role. One of the values of the brand since its inception has been its know-how regarding the spirituality of a wide variety of cultures with sensitivity and admiration, making each piece a challenge and source of enrichment for its artists.

This variety of products is underpinned by the collaboration of prominent outside designers such as Jaime Ayon, Bodo Sperlein and Kuldesak.
