Heubach

Heubach is a Porcelain Manufactory founded by Johann Heinrich Leder in 1822 in Lichte, Thuringia, Germany. By will, in January 1824, the factory passed to his cousins William and Henry Liebmann. William bought the shares from his brother and in 1830 became the independent owner of the factory. In 1840, the factory was bought by brothers Christoph and Philip Heubach and renamed Gebruder Heubach.

Until the middle of the 19th century, the factory specialized in tableware, and in 1876 the production of decorative items began. For the products presented at the World Exhibition in 1900 in Paris, the factory received a silver medal. At subsequent exhibitions, the products of the factory were awarded the highest awards.

In 1938, the company once again changed its owner, it was Baron Otto Friedrich Fürz von Isenburg. At the end of the Second World War, the company was first expropriated, and since 1948, nationalized and operated under the name VEB Porzellanfabrik Lichte.

At present, the products of the factory are supplied mainly to the domestic market of Germany and Eastern Europe. Since 1991, the factory has been returned to its former owners, the heirs of Baron Otto Friedrich Fürz von Isenburg. Since 1994 it has been operating under the name Lichte Porzellan GmbH.

A distinctive feature of the manufactured products of the factory is very thin porcelain, made in the best traditions of Thuringian porcelain.
